You’ve done it 1,000 times.

But now…

Your arm won’t listen.

It’s gotta mind of its own.

(Golf Yips? – Click here)

You can’t make a simple throw.

One ball slams into the ground…

The next flies sky-high.

More you “try” to fix it…

The worse it gets!

Easy plays…

Now, TERRIFY you.

You know how to throw, but…

FEAR has taken over.

It’s hijacked your body.

Your hand and wrist lock up.

Erratic release points…

Cause erratic throws.

To make things worse…

Negative emotions creep in.

  • Guilt – letting your team down
  • Shame – making tons of errors
  • Humiliation – not knowing the fix
  • Embarrassment – looking like a squid

You get in your head…

Can’t stop overthinking…

You don’t even want to play!

You guessed it!

You got THE YIPS!

They stole your confidence…

Then stole your game.

The good news is…

The Yips can be fixed.

Here’s the thing…

As a doctor who works with athletes…

I know what the problem is.

It’s not your arm…

AND IT’S NOT YOU!

It’s your amygdala!

Home of the Fight-Flight-Freeze response.

A small area in the brain…

That keeps us safe.

It loves to overreact.

ESPECIALLY…

When you make a BIG mistake.

or worse…

a string of mistakes.

Your brain goes from trusting your arm…

to questioning it.

“Is my grip right?”

“What if I airmail it?

“What if I mess up again?

Constant doubt triggers the amygdala.

It misinterprets doubtful thoughts…

from the prefrontal cortex

AS A THREAT!

Not a “real” threat…

but a perceived” threat.

The result?

Your primal survival brain (the amygdala) hijacks your prefrontal cortex.

Your prefrontal cortex and amygdala are at WAR!

Your ability to think clearly and use your arm EVAPORATE.

The problem is that the Amygdala is like a Honey Badger…

And the Prefrontal cortex is kinda like a snake.

The Honey Badger never loses as it’s immune to the snake’s venom.

Kinda like fear taking over your arm.

This WAR has a BIG secondary consequence.

It shuts down your cerebellum, which is responsible for fine motor control.

BOOM!

This is what many describe as The Yips.

Lights out for the Cerebellum causes you to…

Be hesitant…

Play tight…

Force all your throws…

Throws feel awkward and unnatural.

You feel afraid to throw a baseball.

A ceasefire requires a treaty.

[Neuro-Treaty Circuit]

Don’t you worry.

That’s all this is, my friend!

A common problem…

With a simple fix.

Let me guess…

This what you’ve tried so far?

Most start with “positive thoughts.”

You got this!

Don’t worry!

Just relax!

How’d that work out for ya? ❌

Next comes breathwork.

“Just take a deep breath.”

Calms your body for a bit…

But not your mind.

Doubt still exists! ❌

Some try meds.

They usually don’t work. ❌

Some try therapy.

But talking about problems…

Seems to make them worse. ❌

Or maybe…

You thought about meditation?

Meditation sounds cool…

AND IT IS!

But no one ever does it! ❌

How close am I?

You haven’t lost it!

You just picked a fight…

With your subconscious mind.

By mistake!

and…

It’s winning!

Let me explain.

We actually have 2 minds!

The conscious mind.

This controls our thoughts.

and…

The subconscious mind.

This controls our body.

Automatically!

Here’s the thing…

Your conscious mind…

STARTED A CIVIL WAR with your subconscious.

A battle you’ll lose every time!

This conflict creates a physical response.

❌ Muscles tighten up.

❌ Release points change.

❌ Accuracy disappears.

❌ Velocity drops.

Sound about right?

Your self-fulfilling prophecy

Now, you expect to fail.

You expect to mess up.

You fear making a mistake.

SO YOU DO!

Your expectations become your reality.

Your subconscious mind is great at taking orders.

You just need to place better orders.

Tools fix problems

Positivity does not!

Plumbers use a wrench to fix sinks.

Electricians use a wire cutter to cut wire.

Surgeons use a scalpel to cut tissue.

Specific tools…

Fix specific problems.

You need a specific tool…

To fix your specific problem!
